During this Kinder Downfall walk you witness an unique landscape in British terms and is also of massive importance to the world of walking, trekking and hiking. So not only is this walk truly unique due to the fascinating landscape of the Kinder Plateau, but you will be following in the footsteps of some truly historic heroes in the sport of hill walking and mountain trekking. As the land used to be owned by Private Landowners and was not open to the general public.
The total distance from Hayfield is 13,5 km and takes about 5 hours. Hayfield is a small picturesque village located on the very edge of the Peak District and just 30 minutes from the bustling city of Manchester. You will see strange shaped rocks on the edge of the Kinder Plateau. From these rocks you can look out at the fantastic panoramic view which stretches from Wales in the far distance on the left all the way round over the Mersey Estuary then over the city of Manchester round to the North Pennines. You will pass many amazing rock formations and some huge rocks that will capture you as you pass them.
