The possibility of practising mountain sports and the fact that you can only reach the place by means of the modern rack railway (Ribes-Queralbs-Núria), have made the Nuria Vally one of the most active and appreciated tourist centres in the Pyrenees. The plant life in the Valley of Núria is typically Pyrenees: oaks with huge leaves, ashes, pines and birches amongst other trees, share the area with Spanish pines and plants with spectacular colours and great beauty. These Girona Pyrenees with the implacable presence of these snow-covered peaks of over two thousand metres sculpt the entire landscape.
