Jili Dzong is a monastery at 3570 meter in Western Bhutan. Jili Dzong was the residence of Ngawang Chhogyel, a cousion of lama Drukpa Kunley. The large lhakhang (lhakhang means temple) contains an impressive statue of Buddha Sakyamuni. It used to be in ruin state but now the walls of the lhakhang have been restored. You might question yourself what kind of mischief the young monks must have committed to warrant banishment to such an isolated place.
