Location
Villa La Angostura is a popular tourist destination in Lake District on the south of the province of Neuquén, on the northwest shore of the Lake Nahuel Huapi. The nice village is located halfway between the cities of Bariloche (76 km from the airport San Carlos de Bariloche) and San Martin de los Andes, in the National Park Nahuel Hapi. This village is also very near Chile, about 45 km.
Villa La Angostura is one of the main attractions of Patagonia. The architecture of the town follows an European wooden style. This so called mountain village is surrounded by lakes, rivers and an ancient forest. It is an perfect place for a relaxed holiday. Also for (adventurous) travelers who like some action and do some activitities, this is the perfect destination. Villa La Angostura is like San Martin de los Andes well known for its sport fishing, ig fly-fishing. Other activities you can do in the surroundings are; mountain biking, horseriding, catamaran sailing, skiing (there is a ski-resort named Cerro Bayo) and hiking and trekking.
Villa La Angostura is enjoying high Patagonian cuisine. There are many excellent cooks and chefs who chose this place and contribute with high cuisine standards. It has turned into one of the best international cuisine exposures.
This mountain village has a big variety of accommodation. You can choose from hotels, holiday homes, hostels and estancias. Over 3,000 beds are distributed along the shores of the main bays. In the center is a good tourist information office that can help you and provide you with a list of accommodation and a map.

Camino de los 7 Lagos / Way of the seven lakes
You can do this by car or cycle. It is a winding road to San Martín de los Andes of a distance of 110 km, crossing dense cohiues forests, lakes and mountains.
Nahuel Huapi National Park
In the park, it is possible to go trekking and climbing to Santa Elena, Bastión, López and Catedral hills that are 1.800 and 2.400 meters high. From the summit tourists will have wonderful views.
Los Arrayanes National Park
You can go by car via route 231 from Villa La Angostura. Or you can trek 12 Km. Los Arrayanes National Park preserves a peculiar forest of arrayanes in Quetrihué located on the shores of Nahuel Huapi. The trekking has medium difficulty. Trekkers will enjoy the adventure among the vegetation. From the park entrance travelers can arrive by ship to Quetrihué and return by walking. The roundtrip lasts 24 hours.
Cajón Negro
It is a valley surrounded by Inayacal, Filo Belvedere and Belverde hills. From there it is possible to take long walks observing landscapes with varied fauna and flora.
Waterfalls
