Godawari trekking information

Godavari is 10 km sealed road from Kathmandu, Nepal. It is a village which attracts many people because of the number of places to visit. To reach Godavari you can take a local mini bus from Lagankhel-Patan bus stop and it will cost you only Nrs. 12 for a one hour drive or you can go to Godavari by motor bike or mountain bike. You can also spend few days at Godavari because it has nice resort to accomodate you.

Royal Botanic Gardens is the most popular among the nepali people because it is a quiet and peaceful spot for a walk or picnic. It is most crowded on Friday and Saturdays because of the school and college picnics. You can have a look on the Nepal's flora here at Godavari. Godavari Kunda is also the place to visit. It is a sacred spring and the hill behind this spring is covered by praying flags. Every 12 years thousands of pilgrims come here to bathe and gain merit. Pulchowki Mai temple and Shanti Ban Buddha is a another spot to visit when you visit Godavari. Shanti Ban Buddha is a huge golden statue if the Buddha.

If you want to see more around Godavari then you can go to the Shrine of Bishankhu Narayan. It is one of the most important shrine in the Kathmandu valley. Another spot for you will be Phulchowki Mountain. It is 2760m high mountain which is also the highest point around the valley and from here you can see the magnificient views from the summit. It is famous for a home of 570 species of flower plants, one third of all the birds of Nepal and last surviving cloud forest in central Nepal. This Phulchowki mountain is more famous for its spring time flowers particularly red and white rhododendrons.
