Gosainkund trekking information

Located 4380 meters above the sea level Gosainkund is rich in scenic beauty and holds an important place in religious terms. According the mythology it is believed that if a person takes a dip in the pond of Gosainkund and visits to the Lord Shiva's temple then they can easily attain Nirvana and again according to Hindu mythology Lord Shiva dipped in Gosainkund to relieve axcruciating pain after he swallowed poison to save the world and after that this pond was named as Gosainkund. Because of its religious value every year on the occasion of Janai Purnima, a religious fair is organized here and thousands of pilgrimages take a dip in the water. Gosainkund can be reached through Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk. You can also do the trek to Gosainkund Lake. It is quite harder trek than Annapurna or Langtang trek.
