Bartso is the village of five homes of drokpa (nomads). This settlement has a permanent sources of water because of which it is considered as a good place to camp for the Tsurphu to Yangpachen trekking. The slopes around the village are covered in juniper and valuable bushes are extracted from this forest and trucked to Lhasa to feed the hearths of the new provincial city.
