Samtengang winter trek is one of the easier low altitude treks of Bhutan that passes through villages and provides views of higher mountains in distance. Because of low elevation, this trek is possible throughout winter. It is not recommended in summer. The trail of the Samtengang winter trek passes through chir pine, rhododendron and oak forests. This trek starts from Punakha and finishes in Chhuzomsa.
Suggested Itinerary for the Samtengang Winter Trek
Day 1: Punakha to Limukha
Day 2: Limukha to Chhungsakha
Day 3: Chhungsakha to Samtengang
Day 4: Samtengang to Chhuzomsa
Best time for this trekking will be the month April and September to October
