 <description>&lt;p&gt;La Alpujarra (sometimes Las Alpujarras) is a mountainous region in the Southern part of Spain, which stretches south from the mountains of the National Park the Sierra Nevada near Granada in the autonomous region of Andalusia. The eastern part of the district lies in the province of Almería and the western part in the province of Granada. The region consists mainly of valleys which descend at right angles from the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountains on the north, to the Sierras Almijara, Contraviesa and Gádor, which separate it from the Mediterranean Sea, to the south.&lt;/p&gt;
