Laya-Gasa Trek is a 14 days trek. The first five days follows the route of Jhomolhari trek from Drukgyel Dzong up to Lingzhi then from it takes another route to Chebisa and finishes at Tashithang.
Upto Lingzhi the route takes a gentle climbing with few short steep climbs over side ridges. Small rivers, streams, rhododendron forest, well maintained rice terraces, millet fields come across this route. Yak and Yak herder are commonly seen during this trek while there is a good opportunity to spot blue sheep.
Laya-Gasa trek is named after the village Laya and Gasa of Gasa district, which is in the far-north of the Bhutan. Laya is one of the highest villages in Bhutan at 3700 m. It spreads out over a hillside near the Tibetan border. Laya are a group of around 800 people, lives in Laya village. They have their own language, customs and distinct dress. They raise turnips and mustard and produce one wheat or barley crop a year before the region is snowed in for the winter. These people are not known for the reliability and punctuality. Therefore, when one need horses and ask them to bring the horses in time, then they may arrive late.

Day 10: Limithang to Laya
Day 11: Laya to Koina
Day 12: Koina to Gasa
Day 13: Gasa to Damji
Day 14: Damji to Tashithang
Best time for this trekking will be the months of April - June and September - November.
