Pentoc Guesthouse is a Swiss-run hostel with Christian leanings. It is ideally situated for exploring the Tibetan heart of Lhasa. The cozy dormitory-style rooms have soft beds and are immaculately kept. The two-bed dorms are especially charming, though the hot water in the communal showers can be temperamental. Given the nationality of the owners, it comes as no surprise to find delectable cakes and muesli on offer in the restaurant, decorated as a Tibetan tent. Movies are shown each night at 8pm.
