The Harz

The Harz is a mountain range in central Germany, which is the highest mountain chain in northern Germany. The Harz has a length of 110 kilometers.

The Harz is divided into the Upper Harz and the Lower Harz. The Upper Harz has a higher elevation and features fir forests and Lower Harz slowly descends towards the nearby land and has deciduous forest mingled with meadows.

The Harz Narrow Gauge Railway is a very well-liked mode of transport, particularly with tourists.
