Sundarijal trekking information

Sundarijal falls under Bagmati Zone and it is one of the 57 VDCs of Kathmandu Valley. It is situated 15km North-east of Kathmandu. It is a tourism area. This is also a starting point for the tourist who chooses to trek to Langtang range. This place is also famous as a picnic spot for Nepalese. It is named after the Hindu goddess “Sundarimai”. Most of the land of Sundarijal is covered by hills and forests. The main portion of Sundarijal is covered by Shivapuri National Park. There is also a hydropower plant here which provides the power supply for nine wards of the VDC. People here do the farming of millet and maize also some vegetables and barley fields can also be seen here. At Sundarijal, you can find 177 species of birds, 102 species of butterflies, a variety of natural forest.
